Dr. Shane Arnott
Chief Engineer at Anduril Industries
Dr. Shane Arnott is Chief Engineer at Anduril Industries, a venture-backed defense technology company, where he directs major autonomy, simulation, gaming technology and new product development engineering programs. Anduril brings cutting-edge artificial intelligence, sensor fusion, edge computing and related technologies solutions to the United States’ military and its allies.
Prior to Anduril Dr. Arnott worked for 23 years at The Boeing Company in the United States of America, the United Kingdom and Australia as well as managing teams in South Korea, Japan, India and Saudi Arabia. In 2012 he became the youngest in the company’s history to be inducted as a Boeing Senior Technical Fellow, awarded to only 0.1% of engineers. He went on to be founding leader of the Phantom Works global division, then Program Director of the Airpower Teaming System (‘Loyal Wingman’) program. Leading Loyal Wingman he brought the autonomous fighter from pencil sketch to flight within 3 years initiating a multi-billion dollar market. Dr. Arnott was recognized as Innovator of the Year in 2019 and his team received a prestigious Aviation Week Laureate for outstanding innovation in aerospace in 2021.
Dr. Arnott was awarded an honorary position of Adjunct Professor at Queensland University of Technology in the Computer Science and Electrical Engineering Departments for outstanding achievements in his fields. He is a GoFly Master Mentor and Lecturer on Model Based Engineering, a Techstars industry mentor and contributing author to the NATO Allied Capability Transformation Program.
Dr. Arnott received his Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Systems from La Trobe University and his PhD in Systems Engineering from the University of Queensland.
